1. Com Hab Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Part-time

 

We are currently interviewing for the following locations and schedules:

  • Bronx: afternoons and weekend flexibility - 10 hours/week

  • New Rochelle: weekday and weekend flexibility - up to 36 hours/week.

  • Harrison: flexible weekday afternoons and flexible weekends - up to 20 hours/week

  • Montrose: daytime weekdays - up to 11 hours/week

 

Job Functions:

Support and oversight for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These are one-to-one positions in the personal homes of the people we serve. Flexible daytime and afternoon hours meet your needs and are available any day of the week. 

 

Starting Rate: $18.00/hour

 

Benefits:

Sick time accrual after the 90-day probationary period, 403(b) contribution/enrollment from the start date & 403(b) Employer matching.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED; some college is a plus

  • Ability to virtually attend paid NYS Mandated OPWDD training when needed

  • Participate in required background screening

  • Work or life experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental/mental health disabilities is a plus, but not required.

  • Ability to work independently in someone’s home and community

  • Comfortable writing reports on progress and documenting notes electronically.

2. Residential Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Full-time/Part-time/Per- diem

 

We are currently interviewing for the following location and schedule.

 

Location:  Mohegan Lake - Independent Residential Alternative (IRA)

Job Functions:

The ideal candidate will be dedicated to enriching the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group setting. 


Responsibilities:                                                                      
• 
Support each resident's needs and goals by taking them to medical appointments, visiting family and friends, participating in preferred leisure/recreational activities, and socializing with peers.
• Attended to each resident's needs, including assisting them with selecting their clothes, cooking, maintaining the house's cleanliness, and communicating other individual needs they may have.
• Planning and implementing activities that help foster independence and promote community involvement.
• Accompany individuals to scheduled medical appointments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  •  A high school diploma or GED, or some college diploma is a plus.•    

  • Valid Driver's License, NY State Required.• 

  •  6+ months of working or life experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental/mental health disabilities is a plus but not required.•    

  • Communication skills (verbal and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external, with Taconic Innovations.

Schedule: Convenient afternoons, overnight, and per diem hours. 

Available Shifts: 
• 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Weekends, days vary)
• 4 pm - 12 pm (weekdays, days Vary) 
• 12 am - 10 am (Thursdays only) 

Starting Rate: $19/Hr
